This Is My House: Returning to the Mat After Motherhood

Before my daughter was born, I used to spend seven hours a week on my yoga mat.
I knew my body like an old friend. I could move freely, confidently, intuitively.
My practice was a rhythm I trusted.

Since she came into my world?
Maybe twenty hours in two whole years.

Not because I forgot about yoga.
Not because I gave up on movement.
But because
motherhood changed everything—especially me.

The Body I Knew Feels Different Now

Some days, my hips feel tight.
Some postures don’t land the way they used to.
And when I film the Foundation Series for The Collection, you might even notice that I modify certain shapes.

Because here’s the truth:
I’m not here to perform yoga. I’m here to live it.

And living it means showing up as I am—with a heart cracked wide open by motherhood, and a body still finding its way home.

I Worried That Would Discredit Me

Would people still trust me as a teacher if I wasn’t doing full expressions of every pose?
Would I look like someone who used to practice, instead of someone who still carries yoga in her bones?

But then I realized—this isn’t someone else’s studio.
This isn’t a traditional yoga brand.

This is my house.
And in my house, we honor what’s real.

What If This Is Exactly What You're Craving Too?

Maybe your body feels unfamiliar too.
Maybe your practice has taken a backseat to diapers, dishes, deadlines, or just plain exhaustion.

I created The Collection for you. For us.
For the mothers who want to return—but need a soft landing.
For the women who are tired of hustle culture wellness, and just want a space to breathe, stretch, and remember who they are.

This Is the New Practice

It’s not about doing more.
It’s about meeting ourselves exactly where we are—and knowing that it’s enough.

It’s not about touching our toes.
It’s about touching back into our truth.

No performance. No pressure.
Just a sanctuary.
Just a path home.

The Collection is open now.
Come join me on the mat—as you are.
There’s room here for your full story.

Cozy journaling setup with coffee and flowers – setting intentions for motherhood and mindful living
By Victoria Moreau January 1, 2025
Let’s talk about your intentions for the New Year. Not the ones you wrote in a planner or bought a course for. I mean the deep ones. The ones your body aches for when you’re standing in a messy kitchen, unsure if it’s Tuesday or Thursday. The ones that whisper: I just want to feel like myself again. I want more presence, more peace. I don’t want to keep spiraling through survival mode. If you’ve set intentions that felt beautiful and aligned, but they’ve fizzled out just weeks (or even days) later—this isn’t your fault. Most moms are missing one key ingredient. And without it? Even the most heartfelt intention doesn’t stand a chance. Intention without rhythm is like a seed with no soil. It might be meaningful, but it has nowhere to take root. We often try to set intentions from a place of willpower. We say, “This year I’ll meditate. I’ll stretch. I’ll slow down. I’ll be more patient.” But then… The baby stops sleeping. The laundry piles up. You forget to eat lunch again. Life pulls you off course. Rhythm is what brings you back. It’s the gentle container that holds your intention when life gets loud. It’s not about strict routines—it’s about having anchors throughout your day that support the woman you’re becoming. What If We Let Growth Be Gentle? Let 2025 be the year we stop hustling for transformation. Let it be the year we notice instead. Notice what we’re drawn to. Notice where we feel most like ourselves. Notice when our bodies whisper “enough.” Here are three ways I’m practicing that kind of noticing—maybe they’ll help you, too:
